Love this! I have historically felt guilty about my gratitude journals. And walking always sets my mood in a more open, grateful direction. This is such a sweet simple offering of how to add awareness to my daily walks <3
Thank you so very much for sharing this kind feedback, which is appreciated.
When I wrote this, it came in part out of my own experience with gratitude journals, which was always mixed. They do work for some people, though I expect more as a framework to start writing and processing, which then helps to begin thinking and ultimately practicing acts of gratitude. I found that expanding how we seek to bring ourselves into a position of gratitude is key.
I also don't believe in gratitude journals Jeffrey, but believe in focusing on a particular thought for a moment in the day in my head. No paper required!
Bingo! Gratitude journals work for some, but if we leave it there, then so many people who have tried them and they don't work can easily slip into a spiral of not being good enough and such, leading to dark places. Trying to expand what gratitude is and can be is key, and since so much of my personal and professional life hinges around nature, that is a natural place (pun intended!) to begin!
