Merci, Louise. The French form is the right one for this stretch (merci!), since the Le Puy route keeps its own language and its own manners the whole way to the border. We finished, and I am still sorting out what to say about it and how to live into it.
Jeffrey, I absolutely love this. First, it is the simplest and clearest explanation of lectio divina I have ever come across. And then you brilliantly “take it to the land,” opening us to encounter and relationship. This is a real gift.
Thank you, Martha. Guigo II set out the 4 movements in the 12th century, and most of the difficulty since has come from people explaining them at greater length than he did.
Moving the practice outdoors changes little about the method, only what you attend to and the relationship that arises as a result.
A text will wait for you to come back to it. An oak will have dropped its leaves by then. The practice starts keeping its own schedule rather than yours.
Bon Chemin
